Outrider to drive Unilever search marketing
Anila Azhar

Outrider has been appointed as the search engine marketing company for consumer goods giant Unilever.

The WPP-owned search marketing firm, formerly known as 24/7 Real Media Search, won the business in a competitive pitch, to enhance search results for Unilever brands such as Dove, Rexona, Impulse, Sunsilk, Vaseline, Lipton, Continental and Streets ice cream.

Outrider will provide full-service search engine optimisation strategy, technology and implementation and a fully-developed paid search strategy across the various brands.

Unilever digital strategist Nicole Still added: “Search is the number one digital channel for consumers. Every brand’s marketing plans should include a search strategy, but the channel is complex and always changing. We needed a specialist search agency to help lead us in this channel.”

Following WPP’s takeover of 24/7 Real Media in May last year, the global marketing services group combined its search businesses including Outrider, Catalyst and Quisma, branded under the Outrider name.
