The Just Group’s Portmans chain has shifted its creative account from Spin Communications to Cumminsniitro, following a competitive pitch.
DDB Melbourne is also believed to have been involved in the pitch.
The women’s clothing chain spent an estimated $1.8 million on main media in the year ending September 2008, up $0.1 million on the previous year, according to Nielsen Media Research figures.
It’s most recentl campaign ‘Wild Pretty Things’ followed a string of TVCs featuring Australian model Miranda Kerr as face of the brand for its ‘Racing’, ‘Latin’ and ‘Silhouettes’ campaigns in 2006.
Portmans has existed in this market for more than 60 years and has over 130 stores across Australia and New Zealand with a head office located in Melbourne.
Along with Portmans, the Just Group also owns fashion brands Just Jeans, Jay Jays, Jacqui E, Peter Alexander, Dotti and stationery shop Smiggle.
The win comes just a month after Cummins Nitro saw the departure of creative director James Proctor who joined rival George Patterson Y&R Sydney as executive creative director. In September the agency’s creative team Matt Page and Carolyn Davis were poached by Saatchi & Saatchi Auckland, where they took over as creative group heads this month.
