 MEDIA PLANNING & BUYING
Mediacom launch own brand digital arm
James Livesley

Mediacom is launching a new digital arm under its own name, but is keeping the Beyond Interactive brand which will be used for external projects that are not related to Mediacom clients.

Mediacom chief executive officer, Anne Parson told B&T that some Beyond staff would be moved over to the new unit which will be known as Mediacom Interactive.

Mediacom’s director of digital, James Simmons, will continue to look after both brands.

Parsons said: “Mediacom Interactive will become a centre of excellence within Mediacom much like our other centres of excellence in strategy and trading.”

She said the Beyond Interactive brand was “a valuable asset” which would now be used by the agency in other ways.

Mediacom Interactive will now service all of the media agency’s digital needs, but some digital only clients will still sit under Beyond Interactive.

The goal for the re-branded team is the “dissemination of the digital knowledge bank throughout the business,” Parsons said, with planners and buyers seamlessly providing their service as part of the greater client team.
