Myer has shortlisted five agencies, including incumbent Badjar Ogilvy, for its creative, planning and digital marketing accounts.
The retail giant has pitched Clemenger Harvie Edge (CHE), M&C Saatchi, Grey and McCann Erickson against Badjar for the business, which is estimated to be worth $60m.
In a brief statement, Myer confirmed the shortlist and said it will not be making any further comment ahead of the final decision, which is expected in February.
The pitch shortlist has several notable omissions, including DDB Melbourne, retail specialist Ideaworks and a Photon collaboration, believed to be between BWM and Naked. Both contenders were thought to be frontrunners for the account.
The review will include most of Myer’s communication output, including TV, digital, radio, press, customer loyalty programs and strategic services.
Haystac, in Melbourne, and Torstar, in Sydney, have already been selected by Myer to handle its PR activity.
Badjar Ogilvy, which signed up model Jennifer Hawkins to be the face of the retailer, has a contract in place until July next year.
None of the agencies involved in the pitch would comment on their involvement, citing confidentiality agreements. The pitch is being overseen by Myer’s marketing chief Paul Bonnici.
