James Packer’s wedding, Paris Hilton, Harvey Norman, Big Brother, Facebook and Kevin Rudd were some of the most searched for terms on Google’s Australian search engine in 2007.
Queensland tops the table for searches for second mortgages, NSW leads on searches for European holidays and Victorians search most for cricket, according to Google’s Zeitgeist of hot searches in 2007.
Social networking site Facebook was the fastest rising search term in 2007, while Big Brother and Australian idol were the most searched for TV shows.
The global search giant has released its first ever list of the fastest rising and highest volume search terms that Aussies have been typing into Google.com.au.
The company also claims that as many as 25% of search queries it gets in a day are new.
