DDB NZ brings in new managing partner

DDB New Zealand has appointed Simon Wedde as managing partner.

Wedde joins from his own agency Zephyr WPD and replaces Deborah Simpson who has moved to a planning role at Whybin\TBWA.

DDB NZ CEO Sandy Moore said: “He’s highly experienced with a great background in planning, strategy and business management.

"Unusually for a suit, he started life as a management consultant, and his experience since - as a strategic planning director, account director and then running his own agency - means he has a thorough and wide-ranging understanding of business."

Wedde has previously worked as a group account director at Colenso where he handled Frucor, Visa International, SkyCity and Masterfoods business. Before joining Colenso, he was strategic planning director at South Australian agency Killey Withy Punshon.
