Coke and Seven to launch new music show
Tim Addington

Coca-Cola is sponsoring a new music show on the Seven Network as part of an extension to its Live N Local brand.

The half-hour programme called Live N Local Up Close, is fronted by Sarah McLeod, former member of Superjesus and solo artist in her own right, and will air on Sundays starting on May 6 at 10am.

As well as television, the deal will also see content made available across Yahoo!7’s media platforms.

It will feature performances by Australian and international artists including Wolfmother, Ziggy Marley, Gomez and Bob Evans.

The Live ‘N Local brand was developed by the soft drinks giant in 2004 and moved into music festivals last year.

Di Jaksic, marketing manager at Coke, said: “Coca-Cola Live N Local has been delivering live music to fans for a number of years now and the Seven partnership is an opportunity to further expand the property and deliver a unique viewing experience to music fans.

“This is the first time we have worked in partnership with the Seven Media Group and we see this as an opportunity to take Live N Local Up Close to a new and larger audience than we have in previous years.”

The deal was developed by media strategists Naked and negotiations with Seven were handled by Ikon.

Kurt Burnette, sales director at Seven Sydney said the partnership delivered a platform and audience for Coke and content to audiences.
