Subscription television channel TV1 and sales house Full Circle is today launching a TV sales joint venture, Full Circle Media, which will represent 10 pay TV brands.
Full Circle Media will handle advertising and sponsorship sales across all platforms for TV1, Sci-Fi, Movie One and Two, Movie Greats, Movie Extra, CNBC, Ovation and two more as yet unnamed channels.
FCM is already selling the Ovation Channel and CNBC, while activity for TV1 and Sci-Fi will begin in August, with The Movie Network Channels coming over to the company from September.
The channels were previously represented by rival sales house MCn, which sells pay TV for the majority of the channels. However, a change in shareholding at MCN from July 1, with Foxtel and Austar buying out the other seven owners of MCn, including TV1, has made some channels move to FCM.
The new rival to MCn has recruited former Ten Sydney sales director Steve Jones, and ex-Seven Affiliates Melbourne sales director Peta Webster to lead the sales teams.
FCM director Brian Gallagher said its new offering should be considered for 25% of subscription TV media schedules.
“By aggregating a group of channels from multiple rep companies we have a made a significant bulk buy available. The subscription TV platform can already support more advertising growth and we expect that growth to continue,” he said.
TV1 Entertainment, owned by US movie studios Sony, Universal and Paramount, and FCM will each own 50 per cent of the new business.
