More than 30 staff have been cut from ACP women’s titles, ahead of a major restructure of its sales force, B&T Today understands.
Approximately 35 staff, from titles including, Cleo, Cosmopolitan, Dolly and Shop Til’ You Drop, were told that they no longer had jobs on Friday last week. While an additional six were given the chop this week from sales and editorial.
Lynette Phillips, publishing and sales director for women’s lifestyle ACP, is understood to be reorganising the women’s sales teams into one unit as opposed to separate magazine sales teams, sources close to ACP have told B&T Today.
Repeated calls to ACP management were unanswered at the time of going to press.
The cuts come after a spate of retrenchments at the publisher, which started with CEO Scott Lorson in September and were quickly followed by the entire PR and events department.
In early December women’s titles group publisher Pat Ingram stepped down from her position, which was then absorbed into Phillip’s previous role, director of sales, women’s lifestyle.
