Pfizer has hired McCann HumanCare to help launch its new prescription smoking-cessation drug, Chantix.
The account was awarded after a review with two other unnamed agencies.
Chantix is designed to decrease a smokers craving for nicotine, making it less satisfying to those taking the drug if they have a cigarette.
Media spend is expected to top $75 million.
Andrew Shirmer, managing director at McCann HumanCare said: “We are delighted with the huge opportunity to help people quit smoking and help market Chantix. We also appreciate this further expansion of our relationship with Pfizer.”
As well as Chantix, the agency already handles Pfizer’s Aricept and Viagra brands.
