A star on the Christmas tree for Y&R

The first above-the-line advertising for Star City since it changed agencies has gone to air.

The television spots use the device of a red symbol to illustrate the range of activities available at Star City, other than gambling.

This is the first work on the brand by Young & Rubicam since it won the business, after initially losing the account to McCann Erickson.

In July Star City pitched its account out to three rostered agencies—McCann Erickson (which has the Tapcorp-owned Jupiters Casino account in Brisbane), Y&R (which has the Tabcorp brand and Keno business), incumbent George Patterson Partners and non-roster agency Clemenger BBDO.

After initially winning the business, McCann Erickson and Star City were unable to agree on the terms of the contract and the business went to Y&R, although this has not been confirmed by Star City.
