Footy finals fever and a strong programming line up have boosted Ten’s ratings for the week.
The AFL’s first and second preliminary final games broadcasted on Ten attracted 1.7 million and 1.42 million viewers respectively.
House and Thank God You’re Here 2 continue to do well for Ten, the second and third most watched shows behind Seven’s Border Security. Australian Idol was also in the top ten list.
The premier of Jericho, which Ten launched simultaneously with the US market, had a fair start, attracting 1.22 million viewers and coming in as the eighth most-watched show among 16-39 year olds.
However, Jamie’s Kitchen Australia has failed to wow audiences, coming in below the top ten among 16-39s.
Seven’s new observational documentary The Force appears to be slipping, last Wednesday attracting 1.2 million viewers, compared to 1.63 million in the previous week.
Seven won Sunday, Monday and Tuesday nights, while Wednesday and Friday nights went to Ten. Nine led Thursday and Saturday.
Meantime, Nine has dumped its new big-budget series Rome following its poor debut last Wednesday, attracting only 770,000 viewers.
However, with the NRL’s second preliminary final attracting 1.36 million the final match is expected to provide its usual ratings boost for Nine.
According to OzTam data for the week ending September 23, Nine was just ahead with a network share of 27.8%, followed by Seven with 27.4% and Ten with 24.4%. Seven remains ahead in prime time year-to-date terms.
