Former iProspect chief gives CarAdvice

Former iProspect CEO, David Holmes, has been appointed as head of independent automotive site CarAdvice.

Holmes’ career in the digital media industry spans over two decades and includes setting up online media agency OneMedia, which was later rebadged as OneDigital, and developing the internet marketing group MRM which was sold to Aegis Media in 2004. He was also among the first digital specialists to sit on the national board of the Advertising Federation of Australia. Holmes was most recently CEO of Aegis-owned iProspect, which launched in Australia in 2007. He left the agency in December last year with the aim of moving into online publishing.

CarAdvice is an editorially-focussed site which includes car reviews, stories and an auto blog. It has recently expanded its offices in Sydney and Melbourne.

Holmes has clear plans for the site’s future.

“The goal for the business going forward is to leverage the massive amount of content we already have, build new content streams, distribute it more aggressively and commercialise the audience more effectively,” he said.

“From a commercial perspective I’m confident I can do some great things”
