Sensis MediaSmart wins international soccer sites Laine Lister
Sensis-owned digital media business MediaSmart has added two international football sites to its sports category, tribalfootball.com and goal.com.
Tribal football provides a stream of football news stories hourly, with global contributors providing information on all leagues.
Goal is an interactive football community with discussion boards, games and live news feeds, and is available in 14 languages.
Mark Shaw, commercial director of MediaSmart said advertisers can reach footy fans across all codes through the MediaSmart network.
“Australia is a nation of footy nuts, which has traditionally meant AFL and rugby. Since the World Cup, we have seen soccer’s popularity grow quite substantially in Australia, and these supporters tend to be very passionate.
“MediaSmart has historically had the dominate position online for AFL and NRL. With the addition of our new soccer sites, advertisers can now reach the full spectrum of footy fans with one buy,” Mr Shaw said. MediaSmart also represents the official sites of the AFL and NRL.
The sites have a combined viewer base of more than eight million unique browsers per month internationally, with 200,000 to Tribal football from Australia and 170,000 unique browsers to Goal from Australia each month, according to Google figures.
