303 restructures creative department as CD departs

Ad agency 303 is restructuring its creative department with Lindsay Medalia taking on national responsibilities as national creative director and Sydney creative director Julian Watt departing the agency.

Recently appointed Tony Williams, ex BBH and Apple creative director, is taking on Sydney creative responsibilities.

303 CEO Nick Cleaver said: “It’s unfortunate that Julian is leaving 303 and we’re disappointed to see him go. He’s a talented guy and he’s done a great job in the short time he’s been with us.

“This situation has provided us with the opportunity to review how we structure our resources in Perth and Sydney and will allow us to intertwine our two creative departments more closely.”

Jon McKie, 303 Sydney managing director, added: “Our growing digital offering and our recent account wins including Honda Jazz, being confirmed on the Pepsico roster,Fidelity Investments, RSVP and others have really required us to look at broadening our creative resources, and linking the two departments more closely together is a means of us achieving this.

“Tony’s experience at Apple and at agencies across Asia gives him great insight. He has already had a tremendous impact in a short period of time, proving his value in several new business wins. We will consider our resources and position before deciding on a replacement for Julian.”

Tony Williams’ involvement in Sydney begins immediately.
