George Patterson Y&R Melbourne has promoted senior creative team Jim Ingram and Ben Couzens to become deputy creative directors.
The duo, who have been at the agency for three years, have created numerous high-profile campaigns, including the VB ‘Symphony’ work and the awarded Schweppes ‘Burst’ campaign.
Ingram and Couzens will report to Ben Coulson, ECD of the agency.
The promotion rounds off a mixed year for the Melbourne office of GPY&R, which was recently the main beneficiary of Cadbury’s creative roster shake-up.
GPY&R picked up work on the Boost brand from The Furnace, as well as keeping its spot on the Victorian Government agency roster. This recent upturn follows a fraught first half of the year when GPY&R Melbourne lost a string of clients.
Coulson said: "We've known for a while how good these blokes are with ideas, but they have genuinely surprised with their creative leadership.
“Jim and Cuz have worked bloody hard and are absolutely up for this challenge. Staff respect them and clients listen to them. They are going to make great CDs. Who knows, they might even start wearing shirts soon".
