Ralph TV signs Toyota as sponsor

Car giant Toyota will sponsor the soon to launch Ralph TV. The half-hour long show is a cross media initiative with ACP Magazines, Channel Nine and ninemsn.

The TV spin-off of the popular men’s magazine will air from 7 June and is scheduled after The Footy Show.

Toyota Hilux has signed up for the 13 episode run, which is being produced by Endemol Southern Star, producers of Big Brother.

To coincide with the TV launch, ACP Magazines have refreshed Ralph with a reworked masthead and cleaner design. Its accompanying website, www.ralph.com.au is also undergoing a redesign. The site will be promoted during the TV show and will feature video segments from the show as well as exclusive content.

ACP Magazines group publisher of men’s and specialist titles, Phil Scott, said Ralph TV was a “natural evolution” of the Ralph brand.

“The magazine launched in August 1997, but the show won’t simply appeal to existing Ralph readers. It will attract a new audience and also drive them to the magazine and website. We expect the TV show, magazine and website to work together in pushing sales and eyeballs across the various Ralph-branded platforms,” he said.

Nine Network, director of programming, Michael Healy added: “We’re confident the show will attract current readers of the magazine as well as a new audience that appreciates fun, humour and sport.”
