Whybin excluded from Myer Grace shortlist

MELBOURNE agency Whybin TBWA & Partners has been excluded from the shortlist for the controversial Myer Grace account, just out, despite being rumoured to have been on the point of being handed the business just two weeks ago.

The shortlist includes Melbourne agencies DDB, Clemenger Harvie Edge, The Campaign Palace and George Patterson Bates.

The retailer invited up to 10 agencies to tender after a private pitch-off between Patts and Whybin TBWA was aborted.

Whybin, which had all but been appointed to the business, was embroiled in a conflict controversy over star retail creative Ted Horton’s pre-existing contract with Myer Grace rival David Jones.

Horton has since left the agency.
