Clemenger Group has confirmed the appointment of BMF Sydney’s Nick Garrett as managing director of Colenso BBDO, beginning March 1 next year. He is a group account director at BMF running business including the work for Tooheys Extra Dry from Lion Nathan. He is replacing Brent Smart who is joined BBDO West in the US.
DMG Adelaide is changing its sales management structure from next year, with Richard Kelly will becoming client director (agency) with Nick Chigwidden the client director (direct). Kelly will oversee all agency clients for both Nova 919 and FIVEaa, with Chigwidden doing the same for direct clients. The Nova 919 and FIVEaa sales teams will remain separate entities. The changes will become effective from January 1, 2010.
Online acquisition design specialist Market United Sydney, formerly known as Freestyle Media, has appointed Theo Fotopoulos to the position of business growth director. He will be responsible for driving new business acquisition and key client growth. For the past three years, Fotopoulos served as the founding CEO of the Parklands Foundation (part of Sydney Olympic Park).
Network Ten has signed a five-year extension of its exclusive Australian broadcast rights to Formula 1. The new agreement commences in 2011 and extends through to the conclusion of the 2015 season. The new deal involves an increase in annual broadcast content and also covers all online, mobile and IPTV rights. The 2010 Formula 1 season comprises 19 rounds, with round 2's Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix taking place on Sunday 28 March.
