News Magazines has appointed Phoebe Adams to the newly created role of online sales manager. Adams has an online background having worked with the sales and strategy teams at Yahoo!7. Adams will work with News Magazines’ online editorial and product teams to commercialise and develop new innovative opportunities.

As part of its “Window on 2010” Advertising , Marketing and Media Congress on February 12, the Australian Association of National Advertisers will announce the winner of the Young Marketer of the Year, including a trip to the 56th Cannes Lions in June valued at $10,000. The competition is open to people 30 years and under (as of 15 January 2010) who work in a marketing communications or related field. Entries will open on 9 November 9 and close on 15 January.

SapientNitro Brisbane won the Best of Show in Integrated Campaign for its “Best Job in the World” campaign at the 2009 London International Awards. It is one of four Grand LIAs that were awarded this year, with the Tourism Queensland campaign also winning a Gold Statue in the same category, gold in The NEW Category and gold in Digital-Online Campaign. Other Aussie winners included Publicis Mojo Sydney, Clemenger BBDO Melbourne, Whybin/TBWA/Tequila Sydney, BMF Sydney, Saatchi & Saatchi Australia, DDB Sydney and JWT Sydney. Fox Audience Network (FAN), a division of News Corporation, and WPP have agreed a partnership to provide marketers with information to increase the effectiveness of their digital marketing investments. FAN will work with units of WPP’s Kantar and WPP Digital under the terms of the new partnership. WPP companies will gain access to FAN's Audience Segmentation service to provide insights, planning and measurement offerings.
