Ten and Qantas sign Wallabies broadcast deal
James Livesley

Ten has secured a deal with Qantas that will see Rugby World Cup reports broadcast on the airline’s domestic and international flights.

The reports will track the Wallabies on a daily basis as they attempt to reach the World Cup Final in Paris on 20 October.

Qantas passengers will be kept up to date with the latest news from the Wallabies’ camp in Montpellier, including training and team selections and the highlights and results from all the Wallabies’ and other Rugby World Cup matches.

The host of Ten’s Rugby World Cup broadcasts, Bill Woods, and members of the Sports Tonight team will present the reports for Qantas.

Ten’s head of news Jim Carroll said: “As the broadcaster of the 2007 Rugby World Cup and having our own Sports Tonight team embedded with the Wallabies in France, Ten is in a unique position to provide Qantas passengers with all the spectacle and excitement of this year’s biggest sporting event.”
