Sony Australia has hired Hausmann Communications as its PR agency following a five-way pitch. The account for Sony’s range of consumer and business products will be added to Playstation, which is already managed by Hausmann.
Sony’s PR was put out to pitch when its previous agency, Stenmark, split with the company after eight years. Rebecca Tilly, head of PR at Stenmark said the decision to end its long running relationship with Sony was “amicable”.
A Sony spokesperson declined to reveal the identities of the other agencies that pitched for the business.
Hausmann has been charged with developing and executing Sony’s Australia’s PR for both its consumer and business divisions.
Tim Rich, group manager of corporate marketing communications at Sony Australia. said: “We chose Hausmann based on the demonstrated ability to understand the needs of our business as well as the environments in which our consumers exist. We believe the Hausmann team brings with it fresh ideas and thinking, as well as a genuine passion for the technology and lifestyle spaces.”
Judi Hausmann, principal at the agency said she was delighted to “extend” its existing relationship with the Sony family.
