CUB launches CarltonG
Maria Ligerakis

CARLTON & United Breweries is moving beyond the confines of the staid beer category with the launch of a new full-strength beer with added Guarana.

CUB’s David Park said Carlton G would add a new dimension to the beer category and responded to consumer demand for news styles of beer and alcoholic beverages.

Despite concerns over health issues associated with drinks containing caffeine, Park said there was no cause for alarm.

“There are no known negative side effects from Guarana at the levels present in Carlton G,” he said.

“It is unlikely in the context of responsible drinking that excessive consumption of alcohol would occur.”

Carlton G is available in 355mL clear bottles and contains 4.6% alcohol.
