KFC reappoints kids promotion agency

KFC Australia has reappointed promotion marketing agency The Marketing Zoo to manage its kids meal marketing programs for a further two years.

The Marketing Zoo was first appointed in mid 2000 following a competitive pitch and has helped KFC’s kids business to achieve double-digit growth in each of the last two years, according to The Marketing Zoo managing director Brad Hellegas.

“We have secured many popular licenses over the last two years which have been key drivers for the KFC kids meal program,” Hellegas said.

“Properties such as Looney Tunes, The Mummy, Yowie and Stuart Little 2 have been extremely successful and have help KFC deliver fantastic results especially during the critical school holiday periods,” he said.

Hellegas said key to the success was a more strategic approach to promotions.

“We have gone beyond just offering a great premium and a great property, we look at leveraging our licenses at every opportunity to gain maximum exposure both in and outside of store.

KFC marketing director Peter McKinney said KFC was “extremely pleased” with the development of its kids business over the last two years.

“In a tough quick service restaurant climate we have been able to build our business through the strategies we have implemented with The Marketing Zoo across all aspects of our kids business”.
