Surf and ski giant Rip Curl is reinforcing its global grip following a partnership deal with the world’s largest online networking site this week.
The action board sports retailer is teaming up with MySpace to broadcast the latest surf and snow news with exclusive footage from major international events.
As part of the deal, all Rip Curl video content, including its TV shows and contests will be streamed to a potential 145 million MySpace users worldwide.
Rip Curl media manager Dane Sharp said it was a major move for the company which would see it promoted in “every corner of the world”.
“Our video productions showcase the lifestyles that our surfers, snowboarders and skiers get to live. We know that MySpace members are going to love following their stories,” Sharp said.
The Australian-based company, which is in over 50 countries, has not revealed how much the deal cost.
MySpace is the largest online community with over 145 million users worldwide.
Since it started in Australia, almost 12 months ago, MySpace Australia has over 2.67 million users, which is growing at over 8,500 users a day.
Rip Curl is in over 50 countries and over its 35 year history is recognised as a leader and innovator in action board sports.
