Retail giant Myer has added Ikon Communications and Starcom to the pitch list for its $54m media account.
The two agencies will join OMD, incumbent Universal McCann and Mediacom, which lost the David Jones business two weeks ago, in the review.
The pitch, which began in July, is being held ahead of the upcoming expiration of Universal McCann’s three-year contract with Myer.
UM first won the business in 2003, successfully defending its tenure three years later.
The extra agencies were added to the Myer pitch list after Mitchell & Partners, which was previously shortlisted, was appointed to the David Jones media account. Mindshare, which also made the original four-strong list, was eliminated from the process.
Should Ikon win the business, it would be a sizeable Melbourne-based foundation client for its new office in the Victorian capital, set to open in January.
