After a three month agency review, Westfield has appointed M&C Saatchi to its advertising business.
M&C Saatchi will take up responsibility for the Westfield brand and retail marketing on all national and centre specific work. It’s been estimated its total marketing budget is around $50m, with the creative account worth between $7-8m.
The incumbents were Ideaworks and McMann&Tate. IdeaWorks will continue to work with Westfield on a range of retail strategies and new business opportunities.
P3’s Darren Woolley, who handled the pitch process confirmed Ideaworks is “retaining a bit [of business] that was never in the pitch. It’s project work”.
Those on the short list were the incumbents and STW – with Leo Burnett knocked out earlier last week.
Michelle Vanzella, general manager marketing said: “Westfield would like to thank and acknowledge the work of our incumbent agencies and we look forward to moving ahead with M&C Saatchi.”
Westfield’s relationship with bellamyhayden as its media strategist and Moon Design for brand design will remain unchanged.
