Realestate.com.au does something big for kids Nichola Patterson
Cummins&partners has secured the massive Glebe Island silo site next to the ANZAC Bridge—billed as the southern hemisphere’s biggest outdoor site—and is today unveiling an ad urging people to visit realestate.com.au\do_something_big_for_kids
Once 100,000 people visit the website, realestate.com.au will turn the outdoor site over to the NSW Department of Community Services (DoCS), which will have free use of the site for the rest of the booking.
DoCS will use the outdoor space to launch its pre-Christmas foster care campaign, aimed at finding homes for up to 200 children who would otherwise be on the streets.
Shaun Di Gregorio, realestate.com.au general manager online advertising for Australia and New Zealand, said the brief to cummins&partners was not only to build awareness of the realestate.com.au brand in Sydney and drive traffic to the site, but also to involve one of its Foundation’s causes.
The Foundation was established 12 months ago and Di Gregorio says the company takes its social responsibility seriously.
“The faster we get 100,000 visitors to the site, the better. If we miraculously reach that goal today, we’ll be handing over the site by this afternoon! Everyone’s a winner,” he said.
Di Gregorio is expecting the site to be handed over within the week.
Annette Gallard, DoCS deputy director-general, operations said recent research indicated that over 75% of people have never considered becoming a foster carer.
“There are more than 3000 young people in foster care in NSW on any day and finding foster parents can give these kids a chance and make a real difference to their futures,” she said.
For the foster campaign, DoCS has partnered with Anglicare, Barnardos, UnitingCare Burnside, Life Without Barriers, Centacare, Stretch-A-Family and Wesley Mission.
