International sports channel Setanta Sports will be broadcast on Foxtel’s satellite platform after signing an agreement with the pay TV operator.
Setanta which operates 11 sports channels around the world is joining Foxtel as an independent access user, meaning subscribers will need to deal with Setanta directly to view the channel.
Setanta offers a range of sports coverage including international football, rugby, cricket and boxing, including the Six Nations Rigby, Scottish Premier league and South American football.
Foxtel chief executive Kim Williams said: “Foxtel provides open access on terms that are fair to both Foxtel and access seekers as the agreement with Setanta demonstrates.”
Foxtel currently offers nine sports channels direct to its subscribers as part of the Foxtel subscription service. It will begin broadcasting from 9 October.
