The head of corporate marketing at St George Bank has been named as young marketer of the year by the Australian Association of National Advertisers.
Kathy Hatzis has won a trip to this year’s Cannes International Advertising Festival after a unanimous decision by the judges.
Entrants to the competition, now in its second year, had to write an essay on building brand loyalty in a fragmenting media world.
Award chair Margaret Rochford said the standard of entries was high. “The winning entry effectively used the marketing-based rationale of transaction touchpoints, marketing touchpoints and individual touchpoints as solutions to overcome a fragmented media environment and achieve consumer brand loyalty,” she said.
The two other finalists in the young marketers’ award were Sheenal Kishore, assistant brand manager at Murray Goulburn Co-operative and Sue Chen, senior research analyst at Right Management, who were both highly commended by judges.
