News Corporation chairman Rupert Murdoch will headline the 2008 Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival.
Murdoch will lead a discussion with Australia’s Hamish McLennan, the global chairman and CEO of Young & Rubicon, on how News Corporation has shaped the media and marketing landscape and what the future holds for the industry.
McLennan, who invited the media magnate to address the 55th Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival, also secured former US vice president Al Gore as key-note speaker of this year’s event.
News Limited last week announced that it had replaced Fairfax as the new Australian representative of the festival.
More than 10,000 visitors from some 70 nations are expected to turn out for the world’s largest celebration of advertising and media creativity which will runs from June 15 to 21.
