Telstra marketer steps up after Moffat resignation
Telstra has appointed executive director of category marketing and operations Glenice Maclellan as acting managing director of the Telstra consumer group following David Moffatt’s resignation.
MacClellan’s appointment is effective immediately, however Moffatt will remain at the telco until the end of November to assist with the transition.
Telstra CEO, David Thodey, today thanked Moffatt for his contribution to the business since joining as CFO and group managing director, finance and administration in 2001.
"David has been a highly valued leader of this company throughout a period of enormous change and I join all of my colleagues at Telstra in wishing him all the very best for the future," Thodey said.
"(He) has played a leadership role at Telstra during a time that has seen a fundamental shift in the way our customers are using telecommunications services, including massive take up of mobile services, broadband, wireless broadband, and Foxtel.”
Thodey also commended Moffatt for his role in launching products including the Next G network and the new T[life] retail environment.
Moffatt, who has also served as a Foxtel Board member since 2001, said: "The leadership, depth and business capability of this team is extraordinary. I wish them every success and know Glenice will do an outstanding job as acting leader.”
Peter Jamieson, executive director of business performance, will temporarily fill Maclellan’s role until a permanent replacement is found.
