Sydney-based digital creative agency Soap has been handed Unilever’s Streets ice cream brands, the first time the FMCG giant has used a digital agency for the product range.
Soap was appointed by Unilever without a formal pitch taking place. Soap will work on Magnum, Cornetto, Splice, Calippo, Blue Ribbon and Gaytime, with the first work for Magnum due to break in September.
“In developing a Streets digital strategy for 2008, we will be working closely with the Streets brand team to gain a deep understanding of strategic issues surrounding the Streets business in terms of each product brand, consumers, competition, sales and other issues effecting growth and marketing performance,” Leonardo Zamboni, managing partner at Soap.
He said that the account was a significant win for the agency which was founded in 2002.
Andrea Martens, Streets marketing director added: “This is the first time Streets have appointed a digital agency. We see the development of a digital strategy as vital to our future growth and we are excited about working with Soap to map out solutions both for our masterbrand and product brands. We have a huge national promotional campaign for Magnum launching next month which we are very excited about.”
