Ikon Communications took top honours at the B&T Awards, taking out the Grand Prix gong at last Friday night’s ceremony which was attended by close to 900 of the marketing communication industry’s leading players.
The media agency also took out Media Agency of the Year in a close fight out with OMD, and also bagged Media Plan of the Year for margarine spread Logicol.
Senator Stephen Conroy, minister of communications, broadband and the digital economy, attended the event at Sydney’s Luna Park, and presented Ikon with the top prize.
For those who couldn’t make it on the night, B&T has teamed up with online broadcasting company Viocorp to make the entire ceremony available online. Please click on the following linkto access.
Other winners included Whybin\TBWA which walked away with Advertising Agency of the Year prize and Open Dialogue scooped PR Agency of the Year.
Campaign of the Year was awarded to Leo Burnett’s Earth Hour, while the Seven Network took out Media Brand of the Year.
More than 50 judges scrutinised the entries in one of the toughest judging processes ever seen in the Australian marketing communication industry. Finalists in the majority of categories had to present to the judging panel and then answer questions.
A torrential downpour which hit Sydney just hours before the awards started failed to put a dampener on the night, with host Will Anderson getting the crowd going ahead of the ceremony and both winners and losers partying long into the night.
