Photon buys Jigsaw Strategic Research
Heather Ferguson

With the ink barely dry on its iMega deal, The Photon Group has acquired research company Jigsaw Strategic Research, the sixth business it has snapped up in less than 12 months.

Established in 1994, Jigsaw provides research and strategic marketing advice, specialising in healthcare, youth and international markets.

The purchase price includes an upfront cash payment, which was not disclosed.

In a statement to the ASX, Photon executive Tim Hughes said the acquisition would provide his group with access to the fast growing research and knowledge sector.

“Jigsaw has an impressive history of increasing revenue and earnings in providing first class service to clients,” he said.

Last week Photon announced it would pay nearly $8m to acquire performance-based marketing group iMega, which receives commissions for linking consumers to product suppliers.

Photon’s multi-million dollar spending spree over the past 10 months began with the purchase of Counterpoint Marketing and Sales for $7.24m in cash and shares.

In February the group bought out Melbourne-based brand agency See Life Differently for around $7.74m and in April it acquired Blast Public Relations.

In May field marketing company Demonstration Plus was added to its growing portfolio of companies.
