Wes Anderson Directs Four Minute Christmas Ad For H&M

With the help of London agency adam&eveDDB, and starring Adrien Brody, Wes Anderson has crafted a heartfelt Christmas campaign for H&M.

Set on a train, delays and mechanical problems mean passengers are stranded onboard for Christmas, disrupting many of their original plans.

But the conductor soldiers on, determined to bring joy to each passenger on Christmas morning, and does just that. H&M barely gets a mention, until the end when the message ‘Come Together’ precedes the clothing line’s logo.

All characters in the four minute story are also clothed in the H&M holiday range.

Per Adweek, Pernilla Wohlfahrt, H&M’s head of design and creative director, said, “The winter train ride, under Wes Anderson’s direction, is the perfect setting for H&M’s holiday collection full of relaxed, wearable elegance.

“It’s about mixing the informal with a sense of occasion, capturing the holiday mood for both dressing up and getting cosy with loved ones.”

Brody added, “This story may resonate more than ever at a time in the world where we could all do with giving a stranger a hug.”

H&M earlier this year released another ad, ‘She’s A Lady‘, for the autumn 2016 collection, featuring women who defy stereotyped femininity.

Wes Anderson has also directed a stack of other commercials, which you can suss out here.
