US Biscuit Brand Teaches Fake British Accents To Get Ahead In Life

Apparently having a posh sounding British accent is all it takes to have people swooning over you in all aspects of life. At least that’s according to a cracker brand’s cheeky new campaign in the States.

While American, the protagonist in the 37 second spot sports a hoity toity accent wandering around his workplace spurting out “hello poppett” and “lovely jublee” whenever he can, while eating the Belvita crackers.

It’s the accent which he says means he can get away with saying anything, as he walks into a board room and declares the company should try selling less product.

The spot is part of a wider campaign from ad agency Droga5 for the Belvita breakfast biscuit brand that includes a microsite on teaching people how to speak in a fake British accent.

The lessons include, ‘Getting a promotion you don’t deserve’, ‘Looking wildly attractive’ and ‘talking your way out of a ticket’.

While the lessons are intended for Americans, if you ever feel the desire to sound like half your work colleagues, have a little natter to yourself with some of these teachings.
