Transport NSW Campaign About ‘Awesome’ Sydney Night Life Slammed As Being ‘Abysmally Lame’

NSW Transport has posted a new campaign to promote an awesome night out in Sydney’s Haymarket- the advert been described as abysmally lame, soulless and an embarrassment.

The ‘super cool spots’ in Sydney appear to be an Event cinema, the theatre, an amusement arcade and a karaoke bar- all things you couldn’t possibly get anywhere else in the world.

“One of my favourite ways to chill at summer is going to the movies,” former X-Factor contestant and star of the piece Jayden Rodrigues said. “The city is buzzing this summer with so many ways to spin your night.”

The ‘buzzing’ city has empty streets, streets blocked off for light rail works, and many shots (including the cinema and the arcade) where the trio appear to completely alone.

Keep Sydney Open campaign manager Tyson Koh said the video was bad Government propaganda that savvy people would see through.”The video’s portrayal of a night out is abysmally lame,” Koh told news.com.au “It’s more like a birthday party for an 11 year old. If the Government sincerely wants people to enjoy a night out in the city, perhaps they should remove the curfew which sends the opposite message”.

In response, Keep Sydney Open posted their own campaign mocking Transport NSW:
