We Are Social Expands To Beijing

Socially-led global creative agency We Are Social has announced it is expanding its presence in China by opening a new office in Beijing.

The Beijing team will be working with a number of international and local businesses, including founding clients China Minsheng Bank, Nestlé and China Mobile’s Migu.

Pete Lin (pictured above, centre), managing director of We Are Social in Greater China and founder of the agency’s Shanghai office, will lead the team in Beijing.

He will be supported by account director Wenny Qin (pictured above, left) and creative Director Leslie Guo (pictured above, right.

Qin joins We Are Social from IPG’s Golin Magic, while Guo previously worked at Hanzhong Group.

The new team joins We Are Social’s global network across five continents, and will work closely with the agency’s Shanghai office, which has grown from a two-person team to employing 60 people over the last two years.

The Shanghai portfolio now includes 15 retained clients, including Beats by Dre, MCM and Acer.

Lin said Beijing has always been an important market in We Are Social’s China expansion strategy.

“After a phenomenally successful two years in Shanghai, we look forward to replicating this success in the country’s capital,” he said.

Robin Grant, co-founder of We Are Social, added: “Pete and his team in Shanghai have done a fantastic job in tapping into China’s unique digital ecosystem to produce some amazing creative work over the last two years.

“Opening a Beijing office is a natural progression for We Are Social. With the huge growth of our client portfolio in the region coupled with growing demand for both country-wide and international campaigns, this new team will enable us to deliver even bigger and better work for clients in Beijing.”
