RSPCA NSW has teamed up with Saatchi & Saatchi to create an online video that shines a light on the dangers of leaving dogs in cars.

The video, titled ‘Nodding Dog’, highlights the simple but shocking fact that it can only take a short six minutes for a dog to die in a hot car.

“As an agency of dog lovers, our hearts were in this from the beginning,” Mike Spirkovski, executive creative director at Saatchi & Saatchi added.

“The brutal fact that it only takes six minutes for a dog to die from the heat inside a car is powerful. Sadly, many people are unaware of the risks so hopefully this simple spot will make a difference.”

“Leaving dogs in cars is an ongoing issue,” RSPCA NSW executive manager marketing, fundraising and communications Paige Gibbs said.

“Every year, the lives of thousands of dogs are at risk. Sadly, many dog owners are unaware that a quick coffee run or visit to the supermarket is putting their four-legged friends’ lives at risk.”

RSPCA NSW and Saatchi & Saatchi partnered with Finch on the production, directed by Jae Morrison and with sound by Rumble Studios.
