Pikachu And Friends Celebrate 20 Years With Super Bowl Ad

The lovable characters for thousands of ‘90s kids have collaborated for a one-minute spot during the Super Bowl.

It’s been two decades since the Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Squirtle and more took to our screens and playing cards, leading to multiple arguments in the school playground.

And to celebrate the 20-year feat, the ad will be played in a massive celebration of advertising, the Super Bowl.

Check it out below.

It’s only a couple of weeks until the Super Bowl in the States. It’s a time that brands are willing to fork out millions to secure a spot in the ad breaks, and a time when marketers put an extraordinary amount of effort in.

The ads often provide great fodder for virtual water-cooler conversations, with some of the best often being shared virally around social media.

Video ad tech company Unruly – who were recently bought by News Corp – pulled together a list of the most shared ads of all time. Check it out here.

And of course, we’re all rooting for Aussie Peter Carstairs whose ad made it into the final of Doritos’ Crash the Super Bowl competition.

It’s the last time the competition will be held, and while Carstairs told us he wasn’t expecting it at all, he’s undeniably chuffed about making the top three.

Check out his ad below. You can vote for his ad here.
