Never one to miss the opportunity for some slightly misguided marketing, poultry purveyor KFC in the UK has unveiled its latest stunt to coincide with yesterday’s Mindfulness Day.

Called “Finger Lickin’ Good Vibes” you initially believe you’re being taken to a beautiful tropical rainforest being slightly drenched in a summer rain shower.

But there’s the trick! It’s all bait and switch and you soon discover you are, in fact, listening to some of the Colonel’s finest bird sizzling away in the deep fryer.

The stunt’s the work of KFC’s London creative agency Mother and its creative partner, Hermeti Balarin, said: “Forget falling rain or crackling fire. Nothing beats the sound of frying chicken or sizzling bacon to get your mind to relax.”

    I worked on the KFC account at Ogilvy in London many years ago. Grease, frying etc was to be avoided at all costs. But why avoid the brand truth, we all know what F stands for, right?
