Brands Tell Donald Trump ‘You’re Fired’ After Anti-Immigrant Remarks

American department store Macy’s has dumped Donald Trump after his anti-immigration remarks during his 2016 Republican presidential candidacy speech.

During his speech, Trump claimed that undocumented immigrants form Mexico are “rapists” who are “bringing drugs” to the US. “The US has become a dumping ground for everybody else’s problems…When Mexico sends its people, they are not sending their best. They are not sending you. They are sending people that have lots of problems, and they are bringing those problems to us. They are bringing drugs and they are bringing crime, and they’re rapists.”

Trump also suggested building a “great, great wall on the southern border” to stop the flow of Mexican immigrants.

In response Macy’s will stop carrying Trump’s menswear collection: “We are disappointed and distressed by recent remarks about immigrants from Mexico. We do not believe the disparaging characterisations portray an accurate picture of the many Mexicans, Mexican Americans and Latinos who have made so many valuable contributions to the success of our nation.

“In light of statements made by Donald Trump, which are inconsistent with Macy’s values, we have decided to discontinue our business relationship with Mr. Trump and will phase-out the Trump menswear collection, which has been sold at Macy’s since 2004.” In response to the public dumping, Trump took to Twitter and Instagram:
