The Global Awards has announced the 2015 Young Globals Student Competition and Internship award winners.

The Young Globals, now in its third year, is the only college/portfolio school competition for healthcare advertising that offers students the opportunity to submit creative work and be recognized with a prestigious Global Award, and introduces students to the rewards of working in the healthcare and wellness advertising industry.

Leo Burnett Sydney junior copywriter Samantha Cable has been named one of three winners for ‘Phone Zone’.

Young Globals student winners will receive the prestigious Global Award as well as paid internship with Global Awards partner sponsors, McCann Health and Ogilvy CommonHealth Worldwide for minimum of one month, based on their availability.

Says Jeremy Perrott, global chief creative officer, McCann Health: “The Young Globals Award was designed to find the future impact makers, interrogators of truth and information the creative leaders who will ensure our industry is known for future thinking solution mavericks.”

2015 Young Globals Award Winners:

  • Brian Hodes, Pilar McQuirter, Antonio Perez, and Sarah VonderHaar, “Eat Smart”, Columbia College Chicago, USA

Scott Watson, chief creative officer, Ogilvy CommonHealth Worldwide said, “I was truly moved by these students.

“They are our future and the Young Globals/Global Awards is helping us to bring their great talents to the forefront. 11,079.5 miles might separate them, and they each have their own culture, but one thing strongly resides within each one of them…creativity.”

Perrott added, “It is my privilege to be part of Globals Health ambition to challenge, inspire, support and encourage the young talent from around the world to not only enter this award, but to become part of the most innovative and creatively dynamic business in communications.”

2015’s student winner’s entries were inspired by a creative brief that posed the challenge, ‘How do we make health second nature in our lives?’

Students were interviewed about their campaign by Young Globals sponsoring agencies’ international award-winning healthcare advertising chief creative officers Jeremy Perrott, global chief creative officer, McCann Health and Scott Watson, chief creative officer of Ogilvy CommonHealth Worldwide.

Watson said, “Each group of students had their own way of interpreting the brief and in turn created exceptionally smart and creative ideas.

“Jeremy and I feel that our future in healthcare and advertising in general looks very promising. We should celebrate where this new wave of talent is headed and look to hire them as quickly as possible.”

The annual Young Globals competition accepts entries from students at the university level, including portfolio centers, who are studying advertising, marketing, art, design, creative writing or similar areas of creative focus.

The Young Global Award winners will accept their trophies at the 2016 Global Awards ceremony taking place on Thursday, November 17 at New York Academy of Sciences in New York City. The 2016 Young Globals Competition will open on June 1, 2016.
