KFC Releases An ‘Official Apology’ To The People Of Ireland

KFC has released an official apology to the people of Ireland on behalf of the 35 million Americans claiming to be Irish. The ad is to promote the fast food chain’s new Irish-themed O’Sanders burger.

The spot, by global creative agency BBH, finishes with “KFC O’Sanders Burger — It’s Irish-ish.”

A red-headed, American-accented spokesperson apologised for the crimes: mispronouncing Irish names, inquiring about pots of gold hidden away, turning random food green and calling St. Patrick’s Day “Patty’s Day.”

At last year’s St. Patrick’s Day, B&T highlighted seven brands who have really jumped on board the Ireland’s national day-including Guinness, Tourism Ireland, McDonald’s and Pandora.

When the Star Wars crew wrapped up shooting in West Cork, took out a print advert in the Irish Examiner to thank the people of Ireland.
