It might be the shortest month of the year, but February has been a big month for brands on Twitter. From Valentine’s Day to the Oscars, brands are working their magic to engage with audiences and make the most of what’s happening.

Here are the brands that generated the most engagement on Twitter in Australia during February, and their most highly engaged with Tweet for the month.

1. @Myer

In February, Myer became the first brand in Australia (and the first department in the world) to use Periscope 360 when they gave Twitter an “in the round” view of their launch of their Autumn/Winter fashion range launch. The broadcasts were a huge success, with over 200,000 viewers and 37,000 hearts.

2. @sportsbetcomau

The Mundine vs. Green fight had everyone talking on Twitter, with @sportsbetcomau getting fans ramped up ahead of the action.

3. @UniversalPicsAU

Fifty Shades Darker hit cinemas in February, with Universal Pictures promoting the film to users on Twitter.

4. @Melbourne

The weather always has users talking in Australia, and so a hot day in Melbourne was a hit pic on Twitter.

5. @WillHillAus

William Hill Australia compares the Mundine vs. Green crowds at Adelaide oval to that of the inauguration crowds in the US.

6. @ANZ_AU

ANZ used Twitter video to launch the 2017 update to their campaign to show their support for the LGBTI community. The new advertising campaign highlights that many LGBTI people still wouldn’t feel comfortable holding hands in public, and includes a Twitter emoji of two hands clasped in a heart with the hashtag #HoldTight.

7. @Queensland

Queensland Tourism counts down to Brisbane Tens kick off, encouraging Twitter users to tag their snaps with the hashtag #thisisqueensland.

8. @Telstra

Telstra gets creative for Valentine’s Day, encouraging Aussies to share the love on billboards by bringing back the popular #BillboardOfLove

9. @SamsungAU

Everyone loves a freebie. Samsung Australia gives Twitter users the chance to win one of its monitors, at the touch of a button.

10. @tabcomau

If the Melbourne Cup was anything to go by, Australians really do love sports on Twitter. Sports betting brand TAB shares a clip of Winx’s win at the Star Apollo stakes.
