Two former production seniors from Aussie betting agency Sportsbet have re-united to launch a new production company based in Melbourne.

Set To Suite is the brainchild of Dan Howe and Wen Shi and specialises in production, post-production and animation for all mediums.

While a large head count and mass amounts of infrastructure are usually big selling points for production companies Howe said he and Shi have purposefully chosen the opposite direction.

“We didn’t decide to start a production company and then think about what our model would be,” he said.

“We saw a gap and realised there was an opportunity here to work differently.

“Brands know they need to have video content. However, when they do the math for longer form or multiple short-form pieces, standard TVC budgets are unrealistic.

How described Set To Suite’s approach as “modular”.

“Besides giving ourselves a nice little buzzword to throw around, it means we are set up to adapt,” he said.

“As creatives first, we don’t compromise on quality. This is about helping brands and agencies get as much out of their production dollar as possible.

“Focusing on building a network of producers, creative talent and dry-hire resources instead of spending millions on gear means we can scale to work on a large TVC with ease using the best people and equipment in the country, but not charge smaller jobs for the five Alexas we have sitting in the cupboard.”
