Deepend Promotes Kim Verbrugghe To Head Of Planning

Independent digital agency Deepend has announced the appointment of Kim Verbrugghe (pictured above) to the newly-created role of head of planning.

Promoted from her previous role as senior strategist at Deepend Sydney, Verbrugghe has been a driving force in helping propel Deepend’s focus as a strategy-led digital business over the last five years.

She has also delivered on a wide range of strategy products and services across communications, channel, content, campaign, application and customer experience.

Deepend managing director Hamilton Jones said Verbrugghe’s appointment marks an important shift in the business.

“At Deepend, we endorse process experimentation and innovation. We apply this to our clients’ work, but we also need to use it to inform our response to our own practices and the nature of our business,” he said.

“Kim has been an incredibly passionate driver of change throughout her career with us, and her move is an important part of the broader work we are doing to ensure Deepend continues to grow its reputation as a strategy-first collective.”

Verbrugghe said she was excited to be working in a more integrated role which will allow her to facilitate new methodologies across the agency.

“Brand challenges are a lot more complex than they were just a few of years ago,” she said.

“They cross multiple departments, and aren’t restricted to one channel, tactic or clear-cut audience segments. This means the way we solve these needs to shift, and supporting the different strategy disciplines within Deepend to holistically answer briefs is a core part of this role.

“Strategy at its core is about finding and focusing on the best of many possible paths to deliver value to the end user, often encompassing multiple forms, including content, product, service and digital. At Deepend, we embrace continual change, so I’m always looking at ways we can drive our offering to respond to evolving market needs, and build on our research capabilities and partnerships to support our clients’ needs now and in the future.”
