Dancing Women Get KFC Ad Banned

Dancing Women Get KFC Ad Banned

An ad for KFC in the UK has been banned after it showed two women dancing on a building’s rooftop.

The 10-second spot was banned by the UK’s Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) for encouraging “unsafe practice”.

In its defence, KFC said the intention of the ad was to “capture the carefree spirit” associated with its fried chicken and that the dance moves would not be “easily emulated by viewers”.

However, the ASA ruled that the camera angles made the dancers look perilously close to the edge of the building and it could be something may appeal to young people “as an act of dexterity and daring that they could emulate”.
