Today in weird-ads-featuring-weirder-talent, football legend Cristiano Ronaldo has appeared in a TVC for Israeli telecom firm HOT.
Three Israeli comedians star alongside the sport star as football players with dramatic hairstyles, debating what’s faster – Ronaldo or HOT’s broadband.
The Real Madrid forward then shows up to lend his talents as the team’s new surprise signing.
But the Portuguese player suffered some criticisms on Twitter for featuring in the Israeli ad, largely coming from his Palestine supporters.

Wait wait wait, hasn’t Cristiano Ronaldo in the past been quite active in support of Palestine? https://t.co/Dc9RdEAbLN

Ronaldo wont take jerseys of Israeli player in respect for Palestine but clearly has no problems doing commercials for Israeli companies

Let’s hope he plays better than he acts, especially considering his previous faux pas when it comes to product-endorsing commercials.
